KTUU.com is looking for an experienced digital journalist and copyeditor who has a commitment to excellence and a working knowledge of digital publishing and social media. Channel 2 News is “Alaska’s News Source,” and our journalism across all digital platforms is a top focus. The Digital Content Supervisor will oversee a small but dedicated staff of digital content producers as well as copyedit and direct the content generated by a full complement of multi-media newsroom reporters. This critical newsroom role will oversee the distribution of digital news and other information across KTUU’s multiple platforms (web, apps, etc.), using a web-based content management system.
This position requires the ability to produce top-notch journalism, compelling and unique content and media “extras” (web video, still photos, live stream events, etc.). Two years of news publication and copy edit experience are a must. Familiarity with P2P CMS is a plus. The position also requires social media savvy, including experience with Facebook, Twitter and other popular social media platforms. Our digital staff communicates regularly via social media with our viewers and online consumers regarding breaking news and other stories being covered by Channel 2 News. The ideal candidate for this position has a degree in Journalism; several years experience in a newsroom and copyedit experience and familiarity with AP stylebook.
