JOB DESCRIPTION:

Candidate must have three years news photography/editing experience. Must be able to edit news stories on a computer based editing system. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to visually represent news stories. Must work closely with reporters and producers. Computer skills required. Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving history as determined by the Company. Driving record will be checked.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Photography and editing (both linear and non-linear) TV news stories. Operating field TV news gathering cameras and computer editing systems. The schedule for this job will vary.

PT Studio Camera Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Experience with a studio camera, chyron and teleprompter is preferred. A news background is desirable. A high school diploma is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Running studio camera, chyron, and prompter. This job will be limited to 20-30 hours per week. Scheduled hours and days of the week may vary. Must be able to work weekends.

WNYT-TV, Hubbard Broadcasting’s television station in Albany, New York, has an immediate opening for an experienced Sales Professional. RESPONSIBILITIES:

The qualified candidate will be a highly energetic and motivated self-starter that possesses a customer-focused attitude and has strong presentation and closing skills. Media sales experience is a plus, but if you have previous outside sales experience and a winning attitude, we’ll supply the product knowledge. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

Professional Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of outside sales experience in media, marketing or advertising.
  • Proficient with MS Office and computer technology
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Operations Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Candidates are required to have previous experience in Broadcast Master Control Operations.

Skills required include:

  • On-air Switching
  • Video Server Operations
  • Run Audio for Live Programs
  • Remote Truck Operation

Preferred qualifications include experience in Master Control Automation, Grass Valley switching systems and ENG/Sat truck operation.  Current FCC General Class license and/or SBE certification in Television Broadcasting a plus.

Applicants must have a valid unrestricted New York State drivers licence and safe driving history as determined by the Company.  Driving record will be checked.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibities will include, but are not limited to:

  • On-air switching of programming and commerical insertion
  • Keeping FCC station and program logs
  • Recording and preparation of video/audio material for program and news play-out.
  • Transmitter remote control operation
  • Audio operation for production and/or live news
  • Operation of ENG vehicles
  • Basic equipment maintenance.

The position will be scheduled for 40 hours per week.  Scheduled days and shifts may vary.

REQUIREMENTS:

The following physical requirements are typical, but not all inclusive: sight, hearing, and manual dexterity to certify proper video and audio quality, driving vehicles and to operate necessary equipment.  Mobility to retrieve materials from various locations in the station, to set-up cabling and equipment at live news sites.  Weight range of lifting:  60 pounds.

Candidate must be a good writer and dynamic story teller. Experience working in a broadcast news operation is required. You must be aggressive in finding and pursuing good stories and be able to tell them live with passion and creativity. You must be comfortable covering everything, from politics to breaking news and in-depth reports. You must be ethical, fair and have sound news judgment. You must be a high energy, positive team player. Must have a valid drivers license and a safe driving history as determined by the Company. Driving record will be checked.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conceive, gather, compile and present news stories for daily newscasts.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Generate story ideas
  • Gather, write and edit vos, vo/sots and packages
  • Present news stories live from the field
  • Anchor newscasts when asked
  • Cultivate and maintain news contacts in the community
  • Generate and report special in-depth reports

REQUIREMENTS:

The following physical requirements are typical, but not inclusive:  Sight, hearing and manual dexterity required to operate newsroom equipment.  Standing and walking is frequent.  Some lifting and carrying of moderately heavy equipment will occur.  Some outside work is expected in all weather conditions.
