JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Production Assistant is responsible for operating television cameras to record scenes for live and recorded broadcasts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Composes and frames shots, applying the technical aspects of light, lenses and camera settings to achieve the effects sought by directors.

Adjusts positions and controls of cameras to change focus, exposure and lighting as requested by the director.

Operates studio cameras during live broadcasts.

Operates remote cameras during live broadcasts.

Confers with directors and other crew members to discuss sequences, desired effects, camera movements and lighting requirements.

Sets up and performs shots for broadcasts.

Sets up cameras and related equipment.

Tests, cleans, maintains and repairs camera equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Technical degree in Digital Electronics, Broadcasting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.

Fluency in English.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Minimum one years experience with camera operation in a television broadcasting environment. 

Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.

Strong PC/MS Office experience.

Experience with other broadcast-related equipment.

Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The Production Assistant must be able to stand, sit, reach, climb, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Position Summary:

This position will work entirely out of our Branson Studio with a talented photojournalist covering the city of Branson, MO and the southern part of the Springfield DMA which includes several counties in southwest Missouri and 5 counties in northern Arkansas.  This person will be required to live in or near the city of Branson.  The Multimedia Journalist produces, reports, shoots, writes, voices, edits and feeds news production content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.  Will work together with an experienced, knowledgeable and award-winning photo-journalist in the Bureau

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports news stories for broadcast, describing the background and details of events.
  • Arranges interviews with people who can provide information about stories.
  • Reviews copy and corrects errors in content, grammar and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines.
  • Reviews and evaluates notes taken about event aspects in order to isolate pertinent facts and details.
  • Determines a storys emphasis, length and format, and organizes material accordingly.
  • Researches and analyzes background information related to news stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate information.
  • Gathers information about events through research, interviews, experience or attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social or other functions.
  • Pitches stories to news managers and news producers which are relevant to the local community.

KNEM-AM/KNMO-FM Radio in Nevada, MO is looking for a Production Director/On-Air Talent.  Were looking for that person who can bring enthusiasm and passion for radio each day to serve our contemporary country audience in southwest Missouri and southeast Kansas.  We work hard but we also want radio to be fun as it is intended to be.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties will include an on-air shift for a community oriented radio operation.   The right person will also oversee commercial production working with our sales staff to write productive ad copy for our clients and then produce that ad or, assign to the right individual.  This individual could also assist with our online video channel.

REQUIREMENTS:

Prior on-air experience either professionally or in a college/broadcast school setting is preferred.  Strong computer skills are required for commercial production and on-air work and have the ability to multi-task.
