POSITION OBJECTIVE: Professionally edit and feed sports news events, features and documentaries as assigned by supervisor and assignment desk. Correctly operate and maintain ENG camera, editing equipment, and all associate assigned gear and equipment. NOTE: This is a generic sports video editor/associate producer posting. Management may assign editor to edit/video any assignments for News Services as needed.
Edit sports video tape per needs of KSL to meet various deadlines while maintaining and using professional editing skills, i.e., creativity, speed, technique and use of equipment.
Help produce daily sports casts and special programs when needed.
Perform routine editing duties as assigned, i.e., bulking, blacking and leadering.
Maintain a working knowledge of setting up and receiving live shots and satellite feeds.
Correctly operate and maintain ENG equipment.
Clean machines assigned to you regularly and report any needed maintenance work.
Maintain news archive system as assigned.
Able to manage stress effectively.
Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Work effectively in a team environment.
Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management, and clients.
Consistently work hours required. Work more when required to meet deadlines including weekends, holidays, evenings, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
College degree in journalism, related field, or equivalent experience
Two (2) years journalism (reporting and/or producing) experience or equivalent
Ability to generate highly creative sports programming
Ability to write clear, concise, conversational and accurate copy
Ability to produce stories quickly and concisely under deadline pressure
Proven ability for accuracy and follow-through
Capable of handling many production details and making decisions with a limited amount of supervision.
Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion
