Good4Utah (ABC4Utah and Utah’s CW30) in Salt Lake City (market 34) is searching for an experienced leader to manage a competitive, award-winning early evening and late news team as news executive producer. Our successful candidate is seeking to be a part of a winning, highly collaborative newsroom, in one of the country’s fastest-growing and most desired cities. Our 3 hours of combined early evening and late news on KTVX and KUCW are a high station priority with support and resources to cover stories that develop during those hours, including multiple crews and a team of experienced producers.
Candidates must provide examples of collaborative leadership, strong editorial decision-making, proactively improving newscasts and executing strategies to grow ratings. This is a night side weekday schedule, but a 24/7 job. The successful candidate is always engaged with what’s going on and ready to assist with our production goals. A journalism degree and five years’ experience in TV news producing is required and experience in a managing role, is preferred. A link to your reel online is preferred.
We are looking for an aggressive, innovative, creative and dynamic Nightside Executive Producer to help take our product to the next level!
The successful candidate will oversee production of compelling and face-paced daily newscasts that make a strong impact on our audience. As a key newsroom leader, the Nightside EP will help craft the station’s daily content work with community leaders and with our crews in the field and mentor other producers and on-air performers. The Nightside EP will work closely with the News Director and Assistant News Director to set and uphold the high standards for how ABC4 Utah & Utah’s CW30 shows are produced and executed.
The successful candidate will understand the importance of breaking news and concept of dropping everything to win the big story, win the strong weather coverage an lead the market with digital storytelling as well.
Candidates must be engaged in social media and be able to regularly contribute to the station’s website. Above all, we’re looking for someone with an optimistic outlook and a winning attitude.
Physical Demands & Work Environment: The Executive Producer must be able to stand, sit, reach, climb, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-worker, work in close proximity to others, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
